Hampstead SDA Church has been blessed with a rich history of music ministry. This record continued last December where members of the HACS (Hampstead Adventist Choral Society) Choir combined with a symphony orchestra and soloists to put together an end of year program of praise. The HACS Choir is made of choristers from a variety of London Churches. The choir was formed in 1999 where upon the arrival of a new millennium the choir preformed the famous work of Handel’s ‘Messiah’. Over the years, the choir has grown and developed under the leadership of Edison Weeks and Fiona Pacquette. The choir shares the ethos to evangelise in music and their repertoire ranges from classical to Negro Spiritual to Anthems of Praise and traditionally concludes on a high with a rousing rendition of the ‘Hallelujah Chorus.’
Over the years the choir and orchestra has preformed items from:
- Handel
- Bach
- Haydn
- And numerous arrangements from our Music Director, Fiona Pacquette
The 2012 concert proved to be HACS most successful program in its history. In addition, its theme of the story of Christ took the congregation on a journey though his birth, earthly ministry, crucifixion and the hope of his second coming. The program proved to be a family event and was popular with all ages leaving all to revive a blessing.
